Japan December 1951 Leutenant Martinez made the net for my helmet. I commented on his and by gosh he made me one. He was a Mexican and a fisherman. Once he made his own totting tool of wood. I lost my helmet on a truck march at night. I was on the end seat got jarred bad from a bad hole & off went my helmet right in the wheel rut.

Korea July 1952. Kumsong area These guys were a 4.2 mortar outfit in the valley behind our line. They got their power wagon (ammo) stuck in the river. They got towed out and then chewed out.
