The following photos were submitted by Maj Curley Kneep. They show what the city of Osan, Korea looks like today. Great change from 50 years ago. Some others were taken on Osan AB.

Sign as you exit the base. Sure glad I was Army when I was there. Never seen signs like these. If there were any put up we used them for firewood.

Directly across from the gate is a walking mall. No traffic allowed after 10:00 AM through 2:00 AM.

Directly across from the gate at a different angle. The ShinJang Dong Shopping Mall.

Communication building finished around 1990. It is "hardened" which means extra thick walls and vault like doors.

Looking east on Broadway. Supply complex on the left. Those are
the original buildings but have a skin of Drivet added for insulation. The original loading platform along the tracks is still there.

New bowling alley. Completed around 1999.

Static display at Doolittle, or East Gate.

New 350 person visiting quarters hotel under construction. Scheduled for completion in 2002. Location along Songtan Blvd at the site of the old Officers Club.

New Officers Club opened in fall 1987.

Dorm about half way up Hill 180. Completed in 1987.


New Hospital, completed 1987. Hardened with 20 foot concrete roof. Mostly underground.

Swimming pool across from the hospital and along Songtan Blvd.


Handicapped training center under construction between Songtan and Pyongtack along route 340.
