This page is dedicated to
Robert (Bob) Haas. Bob was a native New Yorker that
now calls Florida home.(Florida state flag above and
background music Florida state song.) All the
photos below were sent by him. Bob was a member of
"F" Company during the war.

in the Punchbowl area. Their Commander at the time
was Lt Hackworth, later to become Col Hackworth.(Cpl
Collier, soon after this photo was taken went on
patrol and was KIA. For his actions on this patrol
Cpl Collier was awarded the Congressional Medal of
Honor.)

November 5, 1953. After receiving the
Bronze Star Medal for heroic action, Cpl.Bob Haas (right)
is congratulated in Korea by Colonel Curtis J. Herrick,
commander 223rd Regt, 40th Inf Div. Cpl. Haas, son of Mr
and Mrs George Haas, 6201 62nd Rd entered the Army in April 1952 and completed basic training at Camp Pickett, VA. A
former student at Grover Cleveland High School, he was an
ambulance driver for TriBoro Ambulance,Inc before entering
the U S Army.
