| All photos on this page were submitted by George Ryan. George was an instructor in radio school at Scott AFB when he got orders for korea. He was a radio mechanic (airbourne) and figured on a job working on planes. Little did he know about radio jeeps and close air support. He found out real soon after arriving at K-47. He spent almost ll months of his tour with the 3rd division and a short tour with the 28th British Brigade. He had a month or so back at K-47, drove a supply van, filled in for the 1st Sgt who was in Japan and various details until leaving on the 1st on May, 1953. First assignment was at Nellis AFB and then back to Scott AFB and then on and on until he retired in Colorado Springs in 1969. |
