This is the largest naval station on the East Coast. It serves over 20 ships and several helicopter squadrons. The Aegis class destroyers stationed here cost over $ 1 billion each. A tour of the ship will be included if security conditions allow. Considerable walking and climbing on the ship tour. The 91 foot yacht will dock right at the Hotel. Cruise will take you on the St. John's River. Table side dinner wll be served. After dinner listen to the band and (maybe) enjoy a sunset... Learn about the history of St. Augustine, considered as the Oldest city in the U.S. Hear about the fable of Ponce de Leon and his search for the Fountain of Youth. There will be time for shopping. Lunch will be on your own. Enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet with your friends. We begin this day at the Jacksonville Veteran's Memorial for a special service. The memorial is a somber, yet noble tribute to those who fought for our country. The outdoor memorial is the largest of its kind, listing veterans who fought in WW I and II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War , and the Persian Gulf. After the service it is a short drive to Amelia Island, where more historical attractions will be visited. Following the memorial service you will return to the hotel and be on your own the rest of the day.
